What county is downtown Atlanta, Georgia?
My 5 year old son and I are planning to move to Atlanta, Georgia in the Summer 2007. I would prefer to stay in the dowtown area and wanted to know what county it is when looking for housing, employment and schools. Also, if anyone has any tips when moving down there and what to expect, please feel free to let me know... Thx!
Atlanta is in Fulton county. You can go to ajc.com to look for jobs, and any other real estate information, you can also go the chamber of commerce website, to get more information. Also you can sign up for temp agencies like Kelly Services, Adecco, you will have to look, in the area you live in now and port/transfer your info to their agency in Atlanta, which can get you a temporary job, while your looking for something permanent. The downtown area is expensive, and so is daycare, but you also have the Marta, as a heads up you can also research some of the immediate outside surrounding counties as they also have public transportation, but the cost of living has a big difference. Buckhead/Lennox is the most expensive place to live in the city. Also depending on your financial situation, whether porting with a voucher or not you can also contact the local housing authority in the area you want to move to for more information
