Believe it or not it's not rocket science to litter train your cat to use a litter box. So stop for a minute and take a deep breath and exhale. What you'll probably find is years from now you'll look back and think to yourself why was I getting so worked up and tensed about getting my cat litter box trained. You've done all the planning and purchasing of the necessary items to give

your cat a nice and comfortable home so now is the time to relax. This process barring any unforeseen circumstances should not cause you any gray Hairs.

Okay first things first, as they say in the business world location, location, location is everything. Now what I mean by that you want to pick out a suitable location in your home

for your cats litter box. If you have a large home with several floors you might want to locate a box on each floor. This way, your cat will not have to go far to do its business, thus making the litter box training of your cat go a lot smoother. Also make sure you get a box big enough to accommodate your cat/kitten. And if it's a kitten make sure the sides of the litter box is not too high for it to step into. Some cats don't like those boxes with lids on the top of them either.

In addition to the litter box make sure to buy some letterbox liners. They simply look like small garbage bags. And you can probably find those next to the litter box area in the store. Another thing about the location for your litter box is try to make sure it's not in a high traffic spot. Can you imagine if your washroom was located right next to an expressway or concert hall playing loud music? Cats are not a lot different from us in this respect they don't like sure traumatic or unsettling things while they being litter box trained.

Now once you have all your boxes in place just help your cat is fine but locations. Pick your cat of gentle he and put him in to the box. Move is paw back and forth to the litter. After you do this a few times your cat will catch on. If your cat has an accident and does its thing in the wrong place in the house don't get upset or punish your cat. Just wipe it up with a paper towel and place the towel and the litter box. Then place the cat in the litter box and scratch the cat's paw in the box filler to reinforce the idea that this is where the waste belongs.

So once your cat catches on to the process don't over look this good behavior but reward your cat with praise.
